VICTORY IN EUROPE -  80 YEAR ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIONS

Afternoon Tea

The event took place in the Village Hall, adorned with flags and patriotic tablecloths and napkins. We had over seventy people enjoying a fine array of sandwiches, scones and cream, and an assortment of cakes many made by our supporters. A team of hard-working volunteers kept the tea flowing in a range of china teapots.

Thanks goes to Joy Jordan who led the singing of the traditional war songs, such as "White cliffs of Dover" and "Hang out the washing on the Siegfried line". Everyone joined in; waving flags for the final song: "Land of hope & glory". Thanks goes to Lisa Dixon for her amazing repartee on the microphone. The raffle made £192; half to the St Giles Centre Renovation fund and half to the Farnborough Village Christmas Lights fund. Thanks goes to all those who helped and to all those who came along to enjoy the afternoon.
