DEDICATION OF PASTORAL VISITORS
On Sunday evening 20th September we were delighted to welcome Simon Trowell and Peter Russell to our parish Pastoral Team along with a rededication of our existing team members. At the bottom of the page below are pictures of most of the team taken after the service. I would like to thank the Pastoral Team leader, Heather Argent for the leadership of this important part of our parish life and for the dedication that Heather shows in the support and training of our Pastoral visitors. Also may I offer my sincere thanks to our visitors for their faithful ministry amongst the sick and housebound of our parish, I know that it is very much appreciated.

Apart from a short stint overseas, I've lived in the parish all my life and St Giles is my spiritual home. About four years ago when Matthew was looking for new pastoral visitors, I felt this would be a way I could contribute to parish life. So far, I've had the joy of visiting four members of the parish who are no longer able to attend St Giles on a regular basis, if at all. Each person is different; each visit is different and every time I come home having learnt something new. Whether it's about the parishioner’s life, their faith, how they pray or what books they enjoy reading, I am always grateful for the conversations we've had. I leave feeling enriched and uplifted. Although it is my pleasure to visit, the parishioners always thank me for my time, and I reply I am equally grateful for their time.
