Two highly succesful pilgrimages have been organised in recent years, one to the Holy Land in 2013, and one to Turkey in 2015.  Both were led by the Revd. Alison Newman, then Associate Rector in the Parish of Farnborough.  Follow the links on the right of this page to read the stories and view many photos.

Alison has now moved on, to St. Marks Biggin Hill but will be leading two further pilgrimages, to the Holy Land and Jordan. You can view tour information below. For further information contact Alison Newman direct, contact details are in the brochures.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

18th - 25th October 2018

It is always very moving to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land; there is so much to see and experience and learn together. St Jerome said: ‘Five gospels record the life of Jesus. Four you will find in books and the one you will find in the land they call Holy. Read the fifth gospel and the world of the four will open to you.’ We invite you to come and know this for yourselves whether you are new to the Holy Land or have been many times before; there are always new sights and sounds to reflect upon. Reading the gospels will never be the same again and by visiting the Holy Land we are standing in solidarity with our brothers and sisters there too. To have the chance to meet the ‘living stones’, the local Palestinian and Israeli Christians who are the ongoing, living church in the region, is humbling.

Our pilgrimage will include the sites where the most important events in Our Lord’s life and ministry took place: in Jerusalem and the surrounding area and further north in Galilee. We hope that if you have never been on pilgrimage to the Holy Land before you will choose to join us and, if you have been before, we welcome you back. Our journey is a life changing as well as faith changing experience.

We invite you to journey with us and to share in this great opportunity to see those places we read of in the Scriptures.

A Journey through Jordan

10th - 18th October 2019

A pilgrimage in the footsteps of Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, John the Baptist, the Wise Men and, of course, Jesus and his disciples! We begin in Amman including a visit to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman towns in the world. We travel to lost desert castles, the amazing rock-cut city of Petra and the stunningly beautiful desert landscape of Wadi Rum. Petra is the high point of any visit to Jordan, but the country offers so much more, including numerous sites of biblical importance: we will also visit Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land, and Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where Jesus was baptised by John.

During our travels, we will have the opportunity to meet with local people: Brother Andrew at the Holy Land Institute for the Deaf in Salt , the Bedouin living in tents with herds of camels, sheep and goats giving us a rich insight into their traditions and culture. We will end the pilgrimage in Aqaba by the Red Sea.

Come and join us on what promises to be an unforgettable and profoundly rewarding spiritual experience.
